Disruption of ZO-1/claudin-4 interaction in relation to inflammatory responses in methotrexate-induced intestinal mucositis

This study aimed to determine how intestinal TJ proteins are altered in relation to mucosal immune responses to MTX-treatment. We found that inhibition of ZO-1 binding to claudin-4 is associated with enhanced intestinal permeability.
