Father-daughter relationship and the establishment of girls’ gender identity.

The aim of this study was to explain how a father-daughter relationship has an influence on the establishment of a girl’s gender identity, which was defined in this study as having feminine sex-role and high self-esteem, by examining the relationship between paternal rearing and a girl’s self-esteem, and that between paternal rearing and a girl’s sex-role orientation.
