We report a case of a splintered fracture of the palmar plate of the PIP joint of the hand that was fixed in a safe position (MP joint in flexion and IP joint in extension), which is suitable for preventing dislocation and contracture based on the functional anatomy. In this study, we reported a case in which safe position fixation (MP joint in flexion and IP joint in extension) was applied to prevent dislocation and contracture of the bone fragments based on functional anatomy.
