Making a 'Modern Muslim Civil Society': Some Reflections on the Anjuman-e Himayat-e Islam and Their 'Women's Question'

This book explores the possibility of the historical formation of a Pakistan civil society going back to the colonial era and examining the historical materials by the Muslim association.  The Muslim civil society reflected the ‘modernity’ of Indian Muslims and produced the Pakistani citizens who reflectively transformed the community.
