Development of an educational material using traditional materials in art and crafts　Expression and practice with washi and dōsa

This study sheds light on washi (Japanese paper) coated by dōsa (sizing), which is made from a mixture of nikawa (animal glue) and myōban (alum). It aims at developing an educational material for art and crafts by combining characteristics of washi and dōsa. The study presents a practice case in education methods for teachers and students who aspire to teach using traditional materials.
