This presentation was to examine the effectiveness of the structure of our home visiting program for hikikomori individuals based on a focus group interview with psychotherapists engaged in the program. The main characteristics of the program such as the limited number of visitation up to five per case and two psychotherapists monthly visited the targeted home together were favorably evaluated; however, the difficulty in obtaining consent of hikikomori individuals became obvious, and it was suggested that some additional structures were required to intervene in family relationships when the five-time home visitation was deemed insufficient.
