Summary

Sulforaphane (SFN) induces antioxidant capacity and increases running tolerance in mice, but not in humans. In the present study, SFN supplementation in humans suppressed subjective muscle soreness and muscle damage and inhibited markers of muscle damage caused by extensible exercise. The results suggest that antioxidant supplementation may reduce exercise-induced muscle damage.
