Presented at the 33rd National Conference of the South Asian Studies Association of Japan (online), 2020/10/4. on the fact that despite high economic growth and improved education for women in India due to economic reforms since the 1990s, the female employment rate continues to decline in rural areas and stagnate in urban areas, with an abundance of factors within the household. The results of the NFHS individual data analysis, which includes a wealth of family factors, were presented. As for family factors, "living with in-laws" was found to potentially counteract the positive effect of higher education.
