This study examined overall imagery, clarity, and control in cycling athletes, who have a strong element of closed skills, and clarified the relationship with competitive ability. The participants in the experiment were 19 men and 4 women. As a result, no difference was found between the ability to clearly visualize the image and competitive level. Therefore, it was shown that it is necessary to improve visuospatial working memory in order to improve competitive ability and demonstrate one's true potential. In addition, because female athletes were significantly better able to visualize the entire image than male athletes, it was suggested that efforts should be considered that take gender differences into account.
