Biosynthesis study of secondary plant metabolites using cultured Morus bombycis cells 

We clarified amino acid metabolism and lipid metabolism in cultured mulberry cells, including the involvement of the glyoxylate cycle. We also demonstrated the existence of an enzyme that catalyzes intermolecular Diels-Alder type addition reactions.
