Summary

Activation of transient receptor potential melastatin 2 (TRPM2), an oxidative stress–sensitive Ca2+-permeable channel, contributes to the aggravation of cerebral ischemia-reperfusion (CIR) injury. We found that antidepressant duloxetine has strong inhibitory effects on TRPM2 activation, and reduces CIR injury in mice.
