In 2017, the Kindergarten Education Guidelines were revised to include "to be aware of sounds, shapes, colors, etc. in nature" in the area "Expression". The purpose of this study was to clarify the actual conditions of listening to natural sounds in daily life, focusing on 3-year-old children in kindergartens and students at nursery school training colleges. This study revealed that young children have few opportunities to notice sounds in nature in their daily lives in kindergartens. It became clear that the students of the nursery school training college also heard little sound in nature in daily life.
