Two types of extracellular vesicles (EVs) with different diameters in saliva were examined for purification methods and components, and characteristic membrane proteins were found in each. We found that mucin1 (MUC1) in large EVs and dipeptidyl peptidase IV (DPP IV) in small EVs were tightly bound to the surface of each EV.
