The 54th Annual Meeting of the Japanese Society for Artificial Organs (JSAO), Yonago, Tottori, Japan
In three adult goats (mean body weight 59.3±0.7 kg) under general anesthesia, circulatory support for respiratory assistance was established with the return cannula placed in the superior vena cava (SVC) and the drainage cannula inserted from the distal inferior vena cava (IVC). With the return cannula fixed in the SVC, the tip of the drainage cannula was repositioned to the right atrium (RA), upper IVC, and lower IVC, and recirculation rate, arterial oxygen saturation, and arterial partial pressure of oxygen were measured and compared. We presented orally that the upper IVC drainage site provided the best oxygenation. I was responsible for the study design, data collection and analysis, and abstract and slide preparation. Co-presenters: Konomi Togo, Yoshiaki Takewa, Nobuyuki Katagiri, Yutaka Fujii, Toshihide Mizuno, Seiji Tateishi, Yuji Miyamoto, Eisuke Tatsumi.
