Geo-excursions are increasingly important in geosciences and geography education, as well as in society, to address climate change and aging infrastructure. In Japan, online classes have been available since the 1980s, and online geo-excursions have expanded, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020. This presentation introduces nine online excursions conducted in areas such as Tokyo, the Northern Alps, and Mount Fuji, along with student feedback. While online excursions offer advantages like no travel requirements, challenges include the inability to touch real objects. Methods to enhance realism, such as live streaming and location sharing, are also discussed.
