Kendrin Is a Novel Substrate for Separase Involved in the Licensing of Centriole Duplication

The centrosome directs the formation of bipolar spindles that ensure the faithful chromosome segregation during mitosis. We found that the centrosomal protein kendrin functions to protect centrosome from premature reduplication until the cell passes through mitosis, thereby regulating the centrosome duplication to occur only once per cell cycle.
