Effects of Siraitia grosvenorii extract on NASH-like lesions in SD rats fed a choline-deficient, methionine-lowered, L-amino acid-defined diet.
Siraitia grosvenorii is extract (SGE) inhibited histopathological changes, NF-κB activation and CD44 expression in the rat model of non-alcoholic steatohelatitis (NASH). SGE administration inhibited these lesions, similar to CD44, a factor that controls hepatic inflammation and fibrosis. SGE was found to be useful for preventing and treating NASH.
