Effects of polynuclear aromatic hydrocarbons on the mutagenic activity of nitro aromatic compounds were investigated by pre-incubation method using Salmonella typhimurium strain TA98 without S9mix.  Formation of charge-transfer complex was suggested for one of reason of these effects.
