We investigated the preparation of mini-tablets that swell and gel in water after administration. The mini-tablets were prepared by compressing physical mixtures of Porous calcium silicate (Florite®) and water-soluble polymers in various ratios, and that best fit the desired criteria were those prepared with 20-30% of carrageenan among the polymers used.
