Summary

Analysis of blood N-acetyl taurine (NAT) levels after a marathon showed that blood NAT levels increased immediately after the marathon. The results suggest that excess taurine generated during exercise may be excreted in the urine by binding to acetyl groups, resulting in increased blood NAT concentrations.
