Two kaurane diterpenes, cafestol and kahweol, were isolated from hydrolyzed fraction of the fixed oil of Ethiopian Coffea arabica unroasted beans. In addition, cafestol palmitate and kahweol palmitate, the two natural diterpene esters of C. arabica, were also synthesized.
