This study focused on the process of home visits as a notable approach in hikikomori support. A focus group interview was conducted to investigate the subjective experiences of three psychotherapists who were engaged in home visits. Results indicated that the psychotherapists exercised holding the anxieties of the parents and the ambivalent feelings of hikikomori persons in the structure of their daily life space, while assessing the family relationships between hikikomori persons and their parents and clarifying the purpose of the home visits with the hikikomori persons.
