In this paper, I compared the model of "Yumedono Mura" in Yokomitsu Riichi's "Carriage" to the Kusatsu Yunosawa district, evaluated it as a reaction to the segregation policy of leprosy and a precursor of its thematization in literature, and compared it to Nakazato Kaizan's "Yumedono" to present the possibility of a text in which illness turns into holiness.
