We created cultured plant cells from Morus bombycis, a plant related to Morus alba, and identified secondary metabolites. Furthermore, using 13C-labeled acetic acid, we showed that the biosynthetic pathway of secondary metabolites is the same as that of cultured plant cells derived from Morus alba.
