There have been reports of cases in which orally disintegrating tablets did not disintegrate when patients with dysphagia were given medication using a thickening-adjusted food. Focusing on this point, we investigated using the water wafer method as one possible method for administering orally disintegrating tablets. Considering the disintegration properties of the drug, the water wafer method was also shown to be more effective in terms of cost performance. This may be an example of how pharmacists should provide information to medical staff and patients' families regarding patients with dysphagia.
