We interviewed six acupuncturists who had experience in providing acupuncture and moxibustion treatment in the affected areas, and indicated the factors necessary for safe acupuncture and moxibustion treatment in the affected areas. In conclusion, In the case of safe acupuncture in disaster-stricken areas, advanced basic preparation and understanding unique to the acupuncture treatment there are required for acupuncturists.
