Gender is deeply imbedded in human behavior. ＜We conducted a study to clarify the actual situation of gender work, which is the practice of producing a "male" or "female" appearance and dressing up in a gendered manner. As a result of examining gender work based on the narratives of people living in the desired gender, it became clear that gender work is the total coordination of the self, including the body, and is social behavior that emerges in interaction with others.
