In this studyThe magnetoencephalography data showed that the occipital alpha wave component tended to decrease when meditating from a resting state. Salivary amylase, which reflects sympathetic nervous system function, increased before and after meditation, suggesting that contemplative meditation increases sympathetic nervous system activity.
