Postnatal exposure to low-dose bisphenol A influences various emotional conditions

Rats were exposed to bisphenol A exclusively during the neonatal period. The rats offspring were exposed via their mother's breast milk. Sex differences in exploratory behavior in the open field test and increased depressive-like behavior in the forced swimming test were observed. It was suggested that exposure via breast milk also has the same effects as exposure via the placenta.
