A study investigated the effect of cannula placement on oxygenation in circulatory support for respiratory assistance. When the drainage cannula was placed in the inferior vena cava (IVC), arterial oxygen saturation (SpO2) was maintained above 90% with all infusion sites (IVC, right atrium (RA), and superior vena cava (SVC)) as long as the auxiliary flow rate was 3 L/min or higher. This was presented as a poster.
